Purpose of This App

Look Local is a community-driven local business directory built to help neighbors find and support the businesses right around them. Through the app, people can search for local businesses by city and view their contact information, hours, website, and services. Business owners can create an account to claim and manage a free listing for their own business, giving them a simple way to be found by people who live nearby.

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Look Local (the "Service," "we," "us," "our"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.

1. The Service

Look Local is a local business directory that helps people find businesses in their area and helps business owners create and manage listings for their business.

2. Accounts

You may create an account with an email address and password, or by signing in with your Google Account. You're responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to provide accurate information when creating an account or a business listing.

3. Google Account Sign-In

If you choose to create an account or sign in using "Continue with Google," here is exactly what that means and how we handle it:

• Look Local receives limited profile information from your Google Account through Google's OAuth sign-in service - specifically your name, email address, and a unique Google account identifier. We never receive or have access to your Google password.
• This information is used exclusively to create your Look Local account and to authenticate you when you sign in. We do not use Google Account data for any other purpose.
• We do not sell, rent, trade, or otherwise share your Google Account data with third parties for advertising, marketing, or any purpose unrelated to operating your Look Local account.
• We do not request or access any other information from your Google Account, such as your contacts, email messages, files, calendar, photos, or any other Google service.
• If an existing Look Local account already uses the same email address as your Google Account, signing in with Google will link to that existing account rather than creating a duplicate one, since Google has already verified you own that email address.
• You may revoke Look Local's access to your Google Account at any time through your Google Account security settings at myaccount.google.com/permissions. Revoking access does not delete your Look Local account; you can still sign in with a password if one is set on your account, or contact us for help.
• Our use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

4. Business Listings

Business information displayed on Look Local is provided by business owners or compiled from public sources, and we make reasonable efforts to keep it accurate, but we don't guarantee its accuracy or completeness. If you claim a business listing, you confirm that you're authorized to manage that business's information on the Service. Claim requests are reviewed by our team, and we may approve, reject, or request more information before granting ownership of a listing.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to: use the Service for any unlawful purpose; submit false, misleading, or fraudulent business or account information; attempt to claim a business you're not authorized to manage; scrape, harvest, or bulk-collect data from the Service; attempt to bypass security measures (including account-creation safeguards like our captcha and rate limits); or interfere with the normal operation of the Service.

6. Content Ownership

Business owners retain ownership of the content they submit (business descriptions, logos, images, and similar material) and grant us a license to display that content as part of the Service. You're responsible for ensuring you have the rights to any content you submit.

7. Disclaimers

The Service and all listing information are provided "as is," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We don't warrant that business information is accurate, current, or error-free, and we're not responsible for your dealings with any business listed on the Service.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Look Local will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.

9. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms or misuse the Service. You may stop using the Service and request account deletion at any time.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Missouri, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles.
